FAQ
TETRIO FAQ
What is TETRIO?
TETRIO is a free browser-based block-stacking puzzle game. Guide falling pieces into complete rows to clear them, using classic mechanics like hold, ghost piece, and Super Rotation System wall kicks.
Is TETRIO free to play?
Yes. TETRIO runs entirely in your browser with no download, no account, and no payment required.
Is TETRIO the same as Tetris?
TETRIO is an independent, fan-made block-stacking puzzle game inspired by the classic falling-block genre popularized by Tetris. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by any official Tetris rights holder.
Is TETRIO the same as TETR.IO?
No. TETR.IO (tetr.io) is a separate, independently-run competitive multiplayer stacker with ranked play and its own community. TETRIO is a different project focused on solo play — no account, no ranked mode, just a free browser puzzle game with visual/sound themes and background music. If you're looking for ranked online multiplayer, TETR.IO is what you want; if you want a quick, no-signup single-player game, you're in the right place.
Can I play TETRIO on my phone?
Yes. TETRIO has a fully responsive touch layout — swipe left or right to move, swipe down to hard drop, tap to rotate, and use a two-finger tap to hold a piece.
What are the keyboard controls?
Arrow keys move and soft-drop, Space hard-drops, ↑ or X rotates clockwise, Z or Ctrl rotates counter-clockwise, C or Shift holds the current piece, P pauses, and M mutes audio.
Does TETRIO save my high score?
Yes. Your best score, along with your theme, volume, and language preferences, is saved locally in your browser so it's there the next time you visit.
Can I change the visual theme?
Yes. TETRIO offers 9 visual and sound themes, switchable background photos, and a shuffled background music playlist — all adjustable from the settings panel.
